Our story

How Grider Electric started.

Grider Electric was founded in 2019 by Joe Grider, a licensed electrical contractor who spent over a decade learning the trade from the ground up - starting as an apprentice electrician in 2007 and working his way to journeyman before earning his contractor's license.

Joe started the company with one goal: to bring genuinely high-quality electrical contracting to the community he grew up in. Not the cheapest bid and not the biggest company - the one homeowners and builders around the OKC metro, Edmond, Arcadia, and north Oklahoma City could call and trust.

Close to two decades in the trade taught Joe what separates a good electrician from a great one, and most of it isn't technical. It's whether you tell people the truth about what their home actually needs, and whether you stand behind the work after the invoice is paid. That's the standard Grider Electric holds every job to today.

Joe Grider

Founder & CEO

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Joe started as an apprentice electrician in 2007 and worked his way up to journeyman and then licensed electrical contractor in 2019. He holds high standards for the quality his team delivers and a real passion for investing in people - he enjoys mentoring his employees as they grow into leaders. A devoted father to three sons and two daughters, Joe prioritizes family time whenever possible. He founded Grider Electric to serve his OKC community, and feels blessed to serve you.

Mark Roberson

Field Manager

Mark was born in Stephenville, Texas, and has lived in Oklahoma City since 2018. With over 25 years of experience in the electrical field, he still enjoys learning and perfecting his craft. He's energized by positive interactions with customers and by helping his local team complete projects to the highest standard of quality. In his free time, Mark golfs, bowls, and gets outdoors. He's guided by the principle that as long as you're doing the right thing, you never have to worry.

Amanda Wescott

Office Manager

Originally from Houston, Texas, Amanda made Oklahoma home thanks to her husband's career in the army. With a background in administrative roles across both nonprofit and corporate offices, she is dedicated to providing the best customer service experience for our clients. Her heart for service and her commitment to supporting the Grider Electric team make her an invaluable asset.
